Courses and Workshops during Covid-19

Grey Crag, Grasmere – Mixed Media c.55cm x 37cm unframed. £350 framed

Covid-19 has changed so much of our lives. I am mindful that some of these changes will be in place for along time, and that we will be processing those in different ways. I am also aware how much art and making art can benefit us – and so I am continuing my teaching and courses – but online.

I am using Zoom* (with full security features turned on) and teach classes, one-to-ones and also workshops. Everyone is welcome. Booking can be done via the booking form or please just get in touch here at alex@charcoalhorse.co.uk

When we are able to get about little bit more, then I will be re-starting my workshops face to face – though I would imagine there will be social distancing measures that we would all have to take – but all doable.

Currently available are:

1. Drawing and Painting Class was originally at Scotby, near Carlisle – but is currently online, every Thursday morning 10am – 12pm.

Distance is of no matter via video! Sessions are £15 each for two hours. There is an option to pay for four classes in a block at £50, making a saving.

2. One to ones are £30 for an hour. Individual tuition and art guidance

3. Workshops which run for 4 hours, with breaks (where we can have lunch in the middle!) are £40. Next ones are:

i) Unlocking the Secrets of Colour – Choosing and Mixing (1)

Monday May 25 10am – 2pm

Colour mixing is often such a mystery, but it needn’t be! I’ve got some great methods to help you understand how to choose colours, and how to mix them to keep them fresh and vibrant. This workshop is in two parts, though they can each be taken standalone.

ii) Drawing Horses  – with a horse!

Monday June 1st 10am – 2pm

You will be guided through some ideas and techniques to help inform your drawings of horses. We will look at anatomy, measuring and work from life!

“Startled” Charcoal 60 x 45 cm SOLD

4. Starting soon:

i) Drawing for Mindfulness sessions – Be guided through mindful drawing – which will include a variety of activities to expand your drawing and give your minds some space.

Tuesday afternoons – 2 – 4pm £15 per session

ii) Art Circle – Have a task/activity set each week (or people can work on their own ideas) and we meet up for sharing what we have done and have a chat through them, complete with coffee.

Wednesday mornings 10am – 12pm £10

Both the above are two hours.

Please don’t hesitate to make contact if you have any questions.
